Amadlozi ‘reject’ late gospel star Sfiso Ncwane!

THE late South African gospel musician Sfiso Ncwane was said to have abandoned his ancestors when he was still alive.

And now, ancestors are retaliating by allegedly rejecting him. This is according to his 69-year-old mother Fikile Ncwane, who told Daily Sun her son’s spirit wandered around because the ancestors wouldn’t allow him to join them.

Fikile said since the gospel star died in 2016, he has been visiting them in dreams, asking them to ask for forgiveness from the ancestors on his behalf by slaughtering a goat and burning impepho.

In 2015, after news that Sfiso bought a R1.9 million white AMG Mercedes-Benz for his Nigerian pastor, Reverend Francis Anosike while his mum’s fridge was only filled with water bottles, Sfiso revealed that as a Christian, he had stopped visiting Fikile because she consulted ancestors and izangoma, which was against his beliefs.

Speaking to Daily Sun in her home in Mthwalume south of KZN, Fikile said they couldn’t help Sfiso as he begged ancestors to forgive him as no one worked in her family.

But in his desperate plea, Sfiso reportedly appeared in a dream early this year and told his younger sister she would get a good-paying job. And that if she gets a job, she must perform a ritual for him.

“My younger daughter found a good job last month. Now, we’re organising Sfiso’s ritual. I believe he’s going to be a good ancestor once we perform this ritual and ancestors forgive him,” Fikile said.
KZN Traditional Healers Association chairman Thandonjani Hlongwane said if ancestors are unhappy with you, they don’t allow you to gather with them after death.

“As Africans, we believe that when we die, we meet our ancestors. That’s why we do everything they ask from us to keep them happy and bring us blessings. If they perform a forgiveness ritual for Sfiso, they’ll allow him to settle with them. That’ll bring luck to his family, and he’ll become a good ancestor, ” Hlongwane said.

But Pastor Bongani Nhlengethwa, who proclaimed himself as a born-again Christian, said the dead only meet Jesus, not ancestors.

“I don’t want to dwell on Sfiso’s so-called situation, but I believe if a Christian dies, they meet Jesus, not ancestors,” Nhlengethwa said. (Source: www.snl24.com/dailysun)
