Amakhosi to produce Bulawayo’s first TV talk show

In a statement Mhlanga said City Life was an exciting educational, informative and entertaining 13-part show that brings out the citizen of Bulawayo who contributes everyday to create a bad, ugly and dangerous city.

“It’s our city, it’s our life, it’s our future and it’s our stories,” he said.

This will be Amakhosi’s first talk show production.

“We have waited for someone to come up with a talk show from Bulawayo but it looks like there are no takers for this type of television content,” said Mhlanga.

He said the show will host on each episode 29 intelligent people with intelligent issues drawn from each of Bulawayo’s wards.

There will be panellists to give depth to the discussions. Observers will be allowed into the show during filming but will not be allowed to talk on camera.

There will be auditions for the host of the talk show on Friday and those aged between 20 and 40 and are fluent in local languages are eligible to participate in the auditions.

Those aged 16 and above are free to register to be part of the show and talk on camera about burning issues happening in their wards. One should collect a list of themes that will be discussed in the first six episodes and register at Amakhosi Cultural Centre as from this Friday. Registration closes on 14 June.

City Life is Amakhosi Cultural Centre’s second television production to be launched this year since the centre announced the reopening of its production department at the beginning of the year.

This talk show follows the launch of the drama series Nyaminyami.
