Ingwebu-Naph soccer tournament dates set

“Schools across Matabeleland where Ingwebu Breweries conduct their business are gearing up for the soccer competitions whose finals will be at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda. The district competitions will be on 19 June and we urge all districts to have concluded their zonal and cluster competitions by then,” Sinyosi said.

Schools from Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South provinces are participating in the competition.

Meanwhile, Naph district ball games competitions will be held on 18 June while the national competitions will be in Mutare from 24-27 July.

Sinyosi said as a national body they only set the district and provincial competition dates while dates for zonal and cluster competitions are set by provincial committees.

Schools compete in netball, soccer for boys and basketball for both girls and boys up to national level.
Sinyosi said plans were underway to also include volleyball as the sport was one of the sporting disciplines at the regional Cossasa  games.

He said the meeting to deliberate on the issue will be held on Wednesday next week in Gweru.
