AN ambulance, incinerator and a refurbished mortuary for the people of Gokwe South.
That’s the kind of projects which change the face of communities.
Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Owen Ncube, presided over the handover of an ambulance, incinerator and refurbished mortuary at Gokwe South Rural District Hospital.
The development was welcomed by the community who had gone for a while without a functional mortuary and incinerator.
The renovations have increased the holding capacity of the morgue to nine.
The incinerator that formerly functioned with the use of coal now runs on diesel, making it efficient in terms of environmental pollution.
“This is meant to implement the devolution and decentralisation agenda as provided for in the Constitution of Zimbabwe and other policies.
“More clinic equipment facilities will be availed as we seek to uplift the marginalised areas and communities in the Midlands province.
“Currently Gokwe South District has two hospitals and 37 clinics, with three of the facilities having been built and completed since the coming of the Second Republic,” said Minister Ncube.
