Ambulances, X-ray boost for Banket

THE Zimplats Mhondoro-Ngezi-Chegutu-Zvimba Community Share Ownership Trust has handed over two ambulances to Zvimba District and a fully-equipped radiology department to Banket Hospital.

Speaking at the handover of equipment and ambulances, Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Minister Mary Mliswa-Chikoka commended (ZMNCZ CSOT) for having a positive impact in the province.

“It’s an honour today to officially open doors to this beautiful radiology department built for Zvimba District, Mashonaland West Province and the country at large,” she said.

“The donated radiology department and ambulances will go a long way in ensuring provision of high quality health services to our people in Zvimba, Mashonaland West and beyond. It is a positive gesture to the nation and the world at large.”

Minister Mliswa-Chikoka urged corporates, artisanal miners, individuals and companies within the district to give back to the community and assist in the development of the province.

“We want to urge all corporates within our community and well-wishers to take a cue from this noble gesture and complement the Community Share Ownership Trust in improving health service delivery,” she said.

“I’m also happy with the work being done by the Ministry of Health and Child Care and partners in ensuring a healthy community in the province. It is my wish that the district can even be equipped with more ambulances to ensure full coverage.”

The CSOT’s chairperson, Chief Murambwi (Francis Mutemeri), said the donations were the fruits of a consultative process.

“This donation of ambulances and X-ray block and equipment is a fulfilment of the results of the community consultative process that was done and I have no doubt that it shall go a long way in addressing key challenges the community and the ministry is currently facing,” said Chief Murambwi.
