‘AMMARA, NUTTY O’S IMPACT IS HUGE AMONG NEW ARTISTS’

Entertainment Reporter

AMMARA BROWN and Nutty O are torch-bearers who have given the new school of young musicians a bout of confidence, a local events planner has said.

So focused is the pair that most youthful artists now look up to the duo for inspiration.

The events planner said this ahead of the duo’s much anticipated performance at the inaugural July Fest to be held on July 29 at The Odyssey Kadoma.

South African pop duo Blaq Diamond and Zim dancehall sensation Uncle Epaton are part of the show.

Speaking to H-Metro, Dee Nosh, who started off as a disc jockey and later became an events manager/promoter, believes the pair has plenty to offer.

“Ammara Brown and Nutty O are very good examples of hard working youths who are determined to succeed.

“Nutty O was once criticised for singing in English but he never gave up and now we have a youth icon in the making.

“As for Ammara, she could have relied on her father’s rich catalogue of songs but she has created her own brand,” he said.

Dee Nosh believes other artists should learn from this duo if they want to go places.

NUTTY O

“Professionally, Ammara and Nutty O are way above most youthful musicians, dubbed the new school.

“Ammara Brown and Nutty O are 100 percent on the right track and they are running their affairs professionally.

“A lot can be learnt and shared from the two.”

With most people holding similar gatherings in winter, Dee Nosh believes the July 23 Fest is a bit unique.

“It’s a first of its kind festival where we are mixing the young vibrant acts from all genres.

“It’s a celebration of youthful musicians’ success stories which should never be underestimated as they are literally taking over.”

On the inclusion of Blaq Diamond, he said:

“We have included them to ensure that we give festival goers variety.

“The group is not new to Zimbabwe having performed in Gweru, Harare and Bulawayo.

“This time we are taking them to Kadoma to exchange notes with local youthful acts who are performing wonders.”

Fans will have to fork out US$5 for the ordinary ticket and US$15 VIP.
