‘I built my own house, he chased all my tenants’

AN Eastview woman has been granted a protection order against her husband, whom she accused of insulting, and threatening to evict her, from their co-owned house.

Yeukai Chinhamhanda said her husband, Collins Mabhiza, insults her and her tenants, without any provocation.

“Collins gave me a token of divorce last year and I purchased my own stand where I am currently living. “On 12 June, he went to my house in my absence and chased my tenants,” said Yeukai.

She pleaded with the court to bar Collins from visiting her house.

Collins denied all his wife’s claims.

“She is lying, I work in Kadoma and when I returned, she kicked me out of the house.

“All the rooms have tenants and there was no space forcing me to sleep outside,” he said.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Yeukai the protection order and told her that the court doesn’t have the power to ban Collins from visiting his home.
