In his condolence message, Cde Khaya Moyo said:
“Andy Brown, “Mzukuru-Umzukulu”, the music genius is no more.
“The music flame has been extinguished and the great theatre, representing Zimbabwe and beyond is in total darkness.
“His guitar remains in loneliness looking for its owner who entertained multitudes across the globe.
“The silence is stunning, bewildering and leaving music lovers like orphans.”
Cde Khaya Moyo said Brown’s death had created a void that would be difficult to fill.
“It was only last year at a Zanu-PF rally I addressed in Chiredzi where the late Tongai Moyo, a music legend, Alick Macheso — the guitarist surgeon and the Andy Brown — the music magician performed miracles of a music menu, Chiredzi multitudes had never experienced. They lit the stadium with massaging musical messages singling out Zanu-PF as a people’s party. It was a great event. I join the patron of the Zimbabwe Musicians, who is also our party’s national commissar Cde Webster Shamu in bidding farewell to the late Andy Brown and wishing his family strength and staying power.”
Brown is survived by his wife and 10 children.
