AWARD-WINNING Afro Pop and Traditional music maestro Andy Muridzo is set to ignite Beitbridge with a performance alongside the Jeetaz Band at the newly refurbished Pagomba Café on 23 November.
Joining Baba Keketso, as Muridzo is affectionately known on stage, is Zim Dancehall chanter Hwindi President, a popular figure in Beitbridge who has performed there multiple times this year.
The much-anticipated gig is set to spark the festive season mood in Beitbridge, as it will be one of the major events organised by Pagomba Café for the people of Beitbridge.
Muridzo, who visited Pagomba earlier this year, said he always connects well with people from the Venda region and is looking forward to another stellar show.
“I have been to Beitbridge before, performing at the same venue earlier this year, and the feeling was mutual as I felt welcomed by the number of spectators who attended.
“Beitbridge is one of the places where I easily connect with the audience as they show so much appreciation for my craft. I urge people to come in large numbers to witness a well-polished event as we switch on to the festive mood,” said Muridzo.
One of the organisers of the gig, Keith “DJ Keitho” Ndiweni, said that all is well-laid for the gig to run smoothly, and fans must brace themselves for a night to remember.
“Muridzo and Hwindi President have confirmed their participation in this upcoming event at Pagomba, and on our side, we have done all the arrangements, and the stage is set for people to have fun while witnessing their favourite artistes performing live.
“This is one of the shows that will work as a build-up towards the festive season, as we have big events lined up to take place at Pagomba Café. We aim to give revellers what they want, which is quality performance, and as we wrap up the year, we promise only the best,” said Ndiweni.
DJ Keith, MC Kay One, and DJ Vic Gee will rotate on the decks, ensuring spectators are treated to good music.
Meanwhile, Hwindi President is expected to be a main performer on Friday (22 November) at Palace Hotel in Bulawayo, at a show which will see Pantsula musician Abigail Mabuza and Gadzirai Moyo take to the stage.
Moyo will seize the opportunity to launch his latest album at the gig, hoping to capitalise on the large audience and festive atmosphere.
