Angolan, DRC nationals in court over fraud

TWO foreign nationals today appeared in court on allegations of defrauding a Ministry of Defence employee, who is attached to the Command Agriculture programme of money in a botched investment promotion deal.

Joao Beglas, of Angola and Kumba Samou from DRC appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court charged with fraud.

The duo denied defrauding Israel Phiri when they appeared before magistrate Mrs Chido Garwe, who remanded them in custody to November 10.

Beglas and Samou allegedly duped Phiri of US$3 500, which they said was for shipment.

Miss Charlotte Chikoore prosecuted.
