adminCaptain’s Tiger and Madigan by Kirk Swanson, Alula Borelis and Winters’ Night from the Lisa Harris yard and Seb D ‘Aquino’s Eight Street will once again make a bid for the stakes in the oldest sponsored horse race in Africa when they line up among the 23 runners that have been nominated.
This year’s race once again looks to be exciting as eight South African horses have also entered the fray and will be among the favorites.
In 2011, South African runner Grisham by Geoff Woodruff won the race while last year another South African horse Code Rock raced to win the 2000m sprint.
Code Rock has since been put down. Now it looks like the South African-trained horses could continue with their dominance as they have a strong hand in the eight horses that have been nominated.
