Another cattle rustler arrested

A lower Gweru man has been arrested for masquerading as a Veterinary Department officer and stealing five head of cattle from unsuspecting villagers in Mdigane Village under Chief Sogwala in lower Gweru.

Acting Midlands provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende confirmed the arrest of Samson Mpofu (72), who resides at Guduza Village.

“We have arrested Samson Mpofu (72) of Guduza Village under Chief Songwala over allegations of masquerading as a veterinary officer and stealing a herd of five cattle which belonged to villagers from Mdigane Village and the was caught trying to clear the cattle so that he could sell them to a local abattoir in Redcliff,” said Acting Asst Insp Ethel Mukwede
