A 25-YEAR-OLD Bulilima self-proclaimed prophet allegedly raped a 32-year-old woman who had consulted him for severe stomach pains.
Unity Ncube of Zuzaphi area appeared before Plumtree magistrate Gideon Ruvetsa recently facing a rape charge.
He allegedly told his victim that by ejaculating into her body he had administered the fastest cure, much like an injection.
Ncube allegedly met the complainant in a bush and dragged her to a kraal at an abandoned homestead where he raped her once and told her that he had healed her.
The complainant had, days before, visited Ncube’s homestead seeking his healing services as she was experiencing unusual stomach pains.
Ncube then gave her a liquid which he said she had to drink daily as she had a growth in her stomach.
A few days later, Ncube met the complainant while she was heading home from Khame Business Centre. The woman confronted him and told him that his water was not working as she was still experiencing the same problem.
Ncube insisted that she had to continue drinking the water and they parted ways.
The self-proclaimed prophet, who was cycling, followed the complainant on her way home.
Prosecuting, Clemence Shawarira said Ncube caught up with her at a bushy area which is close to her homestead and then attacked her.
“Ncube dragged the complainant to a nearby kraal leaving his bicycle and forcibly had sexual intercourse with the complainant once. After he was done he told the complainant that he had cured her permanently,” said Shawarira.
He said he had managed to transfer healing powers into the woman’s blood system to ensure her quick recovery.
Shawarira said in order to convince the complainant, Ncube also told her that having sexual intercourse with a client was the most effective way which prophets used in their healing processes.
He also warned the complainant against reporting him to the police and threatened to reverse the healing process and to worsen her illness if she reported him.
Shawarira said the complainant later reported the matter which occurred in April.
He said the police went to Ncube’s homestead but discovered that he had fled to South Africa.
Ncube was arrested recently after his return to the village on his “prophetic duties.”
He was remanded in custody to December 19.
