THE Gems yesterday won their third match in a row in the Netball World Cup 2023 Regional Qualifiers Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Gems defeated Tanzania 43-33 after dominating all quarters of the match.

The win secured a place for the Gems in the tournament’s semi-finals.

They ended the first quarter leading 13-6, and at the break, the Gems had a 10-point lead at 22-12.

The Gems pressed on hard in the third quarter, pressing the Tanzanians in their own half.

Coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki said they expected nothing else but a win yesterday.

“We are now looking forward to our next game against South Africa,” said Mutsauki.

The Gems take on South Africa today.

Mutsauki said they were prepared for a tough encounter against the in-form South Africa.

“Actually, we are here to win, and not just to participate.

“So, the Gems are going to fight,” Mutsauki.

Beaula Hlungwane was named player-of-the-match.
