Another weekend of action at BCSSL

THE battle for points in the Bulawayo Corporate Social Soccer League (BCSSL) continues this Saturday as teams gear up for Week 11 fixtures that are expected to bring excitement and competitive football across various venues in the city.

The social league, which continues to unite workers, communities and football enthusiasts, has produced competitive matches this season, with teams battling hard for points as the title race gathers momentum.

Log leaders Simbisa will headline the weekend’s fixtures when they take on Ostrich at Gifford. Simbisa have been the team to beat so far, collecting 24 points from nine matches after winning eight games.

Second placed Value Gas will face a tough assignment against Warehouse Distributors, another potentially thrilling encounter on the cards.

Warehouse are enjoying a strong campaign and sit third on the standings with 19 points.

Overnight Express, also on 19 points, meet Speed Shipping at Nketa 9 in a match expected to attract plenty of attention, while Hope square off against Zimtile at Magwegwe High School ground.

Chibuku take on Millenum at Cement Primary as they seek to continue their push up the table.

Other matches lined up for the weekend will see Coca Cola play Proton at Iminyela, Zesa facing Nust Academy Stars at Sotshangane, Evergold meeting Rydings Auto and Grills FC clashing with Lonestar at Dairiboard Nkulumane ground.

Meanwhile, the league’s executive has called upon all football lovers to rally behind their teams as they push to bring the beautiful game to the people.

“We remain grateful to all the support wee have received from companies and other well wishers. We salute the fans who are thw rightful owners of the game. Ours is to promote wellness, community union and sportsmanship.

“With the season entering a crucial stage, teams are expected to give their all in pursuit of valuable points in one of Bulawayo’s most followed social football leagues,” said BCSSL chairman Timothy Mandizadza.
