Chimwanda becomes the second official from the embattled Zacc to be picked up by police following the arrest of chief executive Ngonidzashe Gumbo — who is still in custody.
General manager investigations Sukai Tongogara was also questioned and released in a separate matter.
“ZACC Commissioner Emmanuel Chimwanda was picked up by police today in a case of impersonation involving those four other people that were arrested earlier. He was released after a warned and cautioned statement and investigations continue,” Asst Comm Charamba said.
Last week, police arrested four people working for the Institute of Democratic Alternatives for Zimbabwe on allegations of impersonation, illegal possession of articles for criminal use and breaching the Official Secrets Act.
The four were allegedly compiling “dockets” against Government officials they accused of being involved in underhand dealings.

The four are former public prosecutors Thabani Mpofu, Felix Matsinde and Mehluli Tshuma and former Harare councillor Warship Dumba.
The four were arrested separately last Sunday.
Police also raided Number 14 Bath Road in Avondale where they recovered some documents and other exhibits linking the suspects to the preferred charges.
Harare lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa was also arrested during the raid on charges of obstructing the course of justice. She was released on bail by High Judge Joseph Musakwa on Monday this week.
The raided premises, according to the police, belong to Idazim, but the MDC-T claimed they house officials employed in the Prime Minister’s Office. Police deny that those nabbed are civil servants arguing that they were never seconded to the PM’s office by the Public Service Commission while some of them were actually suspended from the civil service while others were fired.
The four are currently in remand prison.
