The company and its subsidiaries were suspended last January for violating some of the insurance sector regulations. AON Zimbabwe, a unit of AON plc, operates four units — its flagship AON Risk Services, AON Risk Management, Consulting and Reinsurance.
“Further to our letter of January, we hereby advise that the suspension of AON Zimbabwe and its subsidiaries from taking on new business and facilitates renewals on insurance policies has been lifted with effect from March 2013,” said IPEC in a statement yesterday.
“The decision to lift the suspension has been as a result of meaningful progress which AON Zimbabwe has made towards compliance with the provisions of Pensions and Provident Funds.”
In suspending the company, IPEC said the position was reached after AON Zimbabwe and its subsidiaries failed to comply with Section 3 of Statutory Instrument 243 of 2006, Section 35 of the Insurance Act [Chapter 24:07], and Section 3 of Statutory Instrument 243 of 2006.
