The Apa Hauna Cash one hit wonder kid Nixon Johnson Shindi is on the verge of removing that tag from his collar.
The 28-year-old born and raised in Masvingo artiste came on the scene in 2015 to ride on the Apa Hauna Cash (as we speak you don’t have money) catch phrase adopted by eccentric businessman cum politician and football administrator Philip Chiyangwa as a motto.
This time around Shindi is pulling weight having recorded a track with one of South Africa’s bubbling hip-hop artistes Kwesta of the Spirit fame.
“I met Kwesta at Down To Earth Studios where I was recording. He loved a track I was working on and he asked to feature. The song is called Final Destination, it will be the hit single of my second album Who We Are,” he said.
The album is due at the end of this month through Universal Music. Shindi moved to South Africa in 2015 after the release of Apa Hauna Cash.
Deep inside he knew he would somehow make an impact as a musician in South Africa. While he is yet to, the journey so far has been promising.
“I moved to South Africa and with luck demos I recorded back in Zimbabwe got recognition from Down To Earth Studios and here I am,” he said.
