South Africa-based Zimbabwean fashion designer Nkululeko Ncube, founder of the celebrated label Ara Kani, continues to make waves across the region after showcasing his latest collection at the 2025 South Africa Fashion Week (SAFW) held from October 21 to 25 at Wonderland Film Studios in Cape Town.

Ncube was among four Zimbabwean designers who represented the country at the event, alongside Mbongisani Bhekokuhle Dube, Langelihle Ndlovu, and Brightman Dlamini.

This year’s SAFW edition brought together over 40 top designers, featuring a dynamic mix of runway shows, fashion talks, and creative industry networking events. The programme included categories such as SA Menswear Week, Womenswear Collection Shows, Future Talent, JOZI Collections, and Fash Talks, highlighting both emerging and established fashion voices.

Ara Kani’s collection stood out in the “I Wear Zimbabwe” segment, where Ncube’s innovative designs drew praise for blending bold African aesthetics with modern tailoring.

Other notable designers who graced the SAFW runway included David Tlale, Flux, Michael Ludwig, Daniel Dujaxco, Ezokhetho, Gabriella Charlotte, and Ruff Tung, among others.
