Areno’s gamble on kit backfires

ARENO Sparkers took a wrong gamble when they assumed that wearing their new jersey was going to bring a touch of fortune.

The new kit didn’t bring any luck as they suffered a 0-1 to their long-time rivals Leopards FC in Marondera over the weekend.

The kit was bought by club president, Tawana Taderera, who hoped it was going to inspire his men to get the better of their hosts.

But, Leopards spoiled the fun by inflicting more pain on the visitors.

Sparkers FC were established 11 years ago at a local shebeen as a way to bring the spark on the Kuwadzana social football.

They eventually caught the attention of Areno company, who decided to back the project.

Club secretary, Munyaradzi Chirere, urged other communities to come up with such initiatives.
