POLICE have warned rouge cops that swift and decisive action would be taken against them.

Officer Commanding Harare Central District, Chief Superintendent Godfrey Moyo, urged members of the public to report anyone masquerading as police officers.

“I cannot even say the number of rogue police officers who have been arrested so far.

“We urge the public to provide information about anyone purporting to be an officer performing an unsanctioned deployment.

“Our commanders at provincial level are very swift with issues to do with disciplinary action.”

He said they had never accepted any act of corruption by officers in the Central Business District.

“We have made various arrests and will continue to do so.

“Please, if you have any information regarding rogue police officers, please get in touch with us.

“We have a policy in the organisation that we do not sweep under the carpet any act of indiscipline.

“We swiftly act and some of these officers have been taken before our disciplinary committee.

“We have zero tolerance on issues to do with corruption.”
