LONDON. — Thierry Henry has been axed from Arsenal’s coaching staff because of his role with Sky Sports, according to reports.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made the call despite Henry offering to work for free.
According to the Telegraph the Arsenal legend, who is in the midst of learning the coaching trade, was offered the role of coaching the Gunners’ Under-18s by head of the academy Andries Jonker.
However Wenger overruled the decision due to Henry’s other commitments.
It’s claimed that Wenger told Henry the position was full-time and could not be combined with the former France international’s role as a pundit with Sky. — Metro.
