Arsenal hope for Sanchez boost

LONDON. – Arsenal are hopeful that Alexis Sanchez will be fit to face Manchester United in their crunch English Premiership soccer match on Saturday, according to Sky sources. The Chile forward played and scored twice in his country’s 3-1 World Cup qualifying win over Uruguay on Tuesday, despite Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger suggesting it would be “suicidal” to select him for the game.

Sanchez has been struggling with a hamstring injury but played 84 minutes before being replaced by Nico Castillo. Sky sources understand the forward was flying back from Santiago yesterday but was not due to report back to Arsenal until today, when he will assessed by the club’s medical staff.

And the club hope the 27-year-old will not experience any sort of reaction to featuring for almost the entire game on Tuesday. – Sky Sports.
