Outspoken musician Real Shona has issued a heartfelt call for responsibility during the festive season, urging the public to exercise caution and avoid actions that could harm societal well-being.

Addressing his peers, the 24-year-old musician implored them to refrain from drug abuse and excessive alcohol consumption, emphasising the potential for the unnecessary loss of life.

“I would like to warn people that December comes every year, and we don’t need to lose lives. People should know their limits and stop behaving like beer is a new thing. Beer will always be there, and what is important for drinkers is to be responsible and save lives,” said Real Shona.

He emphasised the need for individuals to be mindful of their actions during the festive season, cautioning against extreme partying that often leads to tragic outcomes. Real Shona advised against drunk driving and urged people to prioritise safety, especially when celebrating with loved ones.

The musician also extended his advice to parents and guardians, urging them to consider the financial responsibilities that await them in the new year.

“We should always understand that there is life after the festive season. School fees need to be paid once schools open, and we should not be found wanting,” he emphasised.

Real Shona stressed the importance of not jeopardising the future of children through overspending and encouraged responsible financial planning. He highlighted the need to avoid peer pressure and ensure that actions during the festive season are not regrettable.

Earlier this week, Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Felix Mhona also called on all road users to exercise caution during the upcoming 2023/24 festive season.
