Top artistes from Bulawayo are set to hit the stage on November 28 at the Mzilikazi Youth Centre as part of the “My Body, My Future” Youth Expo. They include Godolude, Mxolisi Mr Bones, Asaph Afrika and the Kwela Initiative, Mzoe 7, Vuyo Brown, Novuyo Seagirl, Thaluso Da Poet, Mazweli, Queen of Batonga, and Albinism Konnect.
The event marks the culmination of a three-year initiative dedicated to empowering young people with knowledge about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Spearheaded by Plan International, the National Council of Disabled Persons of Zimbabwe (NCDPZ), the Sexual Rights Centre (SRC), and the Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo, the expo promises a vibrant mix of education and entertainment, aptly described as “edutainment”.
The expo aims to amplify crucial SRHR messages and promote youth-friendly health services in an engaging and accessible way.
“Participants can expect discussions and interactive activities addressing pressing issues such as Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), teenage pregnancy prevention, and advocacy against child marriage. The event will also provide guidance for young parents and ensure access to accurate information and youth-friendly health services, empowering attendees to make informed choices,” organisers said.
In addition to music, the expo will feature sports, games, drama, and poetry, providing young people with a fun and interactive learning experience.
Since its inception in 2022, “My Body, My Future” has reached 15 wards in Bulawayo and 11 wards in Kwekwe, fostering dialogue, building capacity, and connecting young people with essential services. The Youth Expo stands as one of the project’s flagship close-out events before its formal conclusion this December. – Follow on X: @MbuleloMpofu
