Artistes reveal 2015 resolutions

As the year 2015 roars into life, various artistes and players in the entertainment industry talked to our Entertainment Correspondent Liberty Dube and shared their resolutions for the New Year.

Brian Samaita

I will be releasing a flashy video for my most popular song Main Actor early this month (January). I realised that most people are conversant with most of my songs but they are not familiar with the person behind the artistry. I will then drop a six-track album in February. Sungura lovers should look forward to the song Mbiri Kuna Jesu.

Esau Mupfumi

Pick and Save will host several big musicians like never before. Most regional and international artistes whom I cannot mention for professional reasons have fallen in love with the spacious venue and have expressed their interest in performing at the spacious venue. What an exhilarating year it will be. Patrons should also expect to watch an array of artistes across all genres performing live.

Memo Madekurozva

I want to record a full album. That will be an achievement to my music career which is slowly blossoming. Music is my passion so I will work hard and let that passion put some food on the table.

Henry Tsopotsa

We managed to achieve most of our core aims at Courtauld Theatre this year. These are to promote local artistes. We have managed to give them enough platforms to showcase their talents. We will continue to proffer plenty of support to all artistes. We will also host several dramas and plays.

Debambe

I have opened up a recording studio for all upcoming artistes at Dangamvura Hotel and I am utilising the hotel premises and accord them a chance to perform live. I will early this year release a reggae compilation project titled “Dreadlocks is a sign of freedom”. It has eight tracks and we hope to preach the message of peace and hope through the project.

Patrick Matondora (Xtramaton)

I realised that my music (Christian Hip Hop) has managed to capture the hearts of many people. So I will utilise that opportunity to commence a whirlwind musical tour across the country. I intend to raise money to donate to orphanages in Mutare. I am also working on a gospel track with rapper Alishias “Maskiri” Musimbe titled Masimba Ajehovah which will be officially released next month.

Pastor Tinashe

I want to do videos for songs on my new album titled Zvinofadza sei . I will also be working on a worship album which will carry 12 tracks. I will go a gear up on marketing my debut album Zvinofadza sei to the world. We are slowly gaining ground in the entertainment industry and we intend to hold more live shows and preach the word of God to people.

Hosiah Chipanga

I am going to prove to Zimbabwe and the world that calling myself God’s messenger is indeed reality. I have been trying to help my country and the world by instructing and informing the people on how the Creator wants us to live on this planet but from the terraces and not from the pitch. I am going to carry my mission on three platforms, which are, church-wise, musical and political.

Olin Anderson

As a producer, I want to explore new avenues and help promote local artistes who have a dream to become big. I intend to nationalise my record label Kunashe Studios and subsequently attract big artistes in Zimbabwe and abroad.
