Artists ignoring our calls: ZIMURA

Zimbabwe Music Rights Association’s executive director, Polisile Ncube-Chimhini, says a number of artists are still not attending workshops which they call for across all the provinces.

On Thursday, ZIMURA hosted its second workshop at the Showgrounds Hall in Chinhoyi.

Speaking on the side-lines of the workshop, Chimhini encouraged musicians to play their part.

“This is our second workshop for the year but the main challenge we are facing is resistance from artistes and this includes both upcoming and seasoned artists.

“We are urging those who have not registered to do so for us to convey the important information across.

“If they don’t come for these workshops we are likely to see the same artistes spreading false information,” said Chimhini.

Similar sentiments were echoed by deputy director Henry Makombe.

“We can do this together and we need to put our hands together so that we can achieve our goals together.

“Our joining fee is only $20 and after paying that amount we will be paying you.

“You will start to enjoy benefits and we are making sure all provinces get this important information,” he said.
