The international expo, which is the sixth edition, with the theme “Leveraging on the Arts and Crafts Industry for Job Creation and Economic Empowerment” is featuring over 50 foreign exhibitors from 18 countries, which include Ghana, Mali, Sudan, Togo, Gambia, Chad, South Korea, China and Pakistan.
Also, 17 states of Nigeria are represented, including Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ogun, Oyo, Katsina, Sokoto and Lagos.
Nigeria’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Edem Duke, said at the opening ceremony that the expo will help exhibitors to share idea and network with other practitioners in the area that relate to their competence and meet with prospective investors.
At the expo, China’s art and culture delegation displayed Chinese art.
Jin Hongyue, cultural counsellor to the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, said the expo provides China and Africa necessary awareness for the rich indigenous arts and culture, further promoting cultural development and strengthening the long lasting ties between Nigeria and China.
