PRETORIA University goalkeeper Washington Arubi is determined to see his team collect maximum points in their home game against struggling Polokwane City at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria this evening.
AmaTuks will have no mercy as they face the Absa Premier Soccer League newcomers Polokwane City after their 1-2 loss to star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.
The Warriors goalie told Chronicle Sport; “The mood in the camp is overwhelming. Everyone is ready for the battle and there are no injuries which is a huge boost for the coach.
“Our coach Steve Barker told us that his priority is to see the team surpass last season’s position eight and finish in the top six, most likely that is achievable considering the quality of players we have.”
Arubi said that their loss to Sundowns was a wake-up call and he is happy that the coach has pin-pointed and rectified all the mistakes.
“What I like about our coach is that he always has faith in us and is a disciplinarian and tactician with whom we are destined destined for greater things,” said the former Dynamos goalkeeper.
He said his greatest wish is to keep clean sheets in forthcoming games and he urged his teammates to be mentally brave when approaching games.
