ESIGODINI-based musician Mavusani left the crowd clamouring for more after delivering a spirited performance at the 2026 Munhumutapa Music Gala, which brought together some of the country’s biggest music acts for a night of entertainment and celebration.
Known for his development-oriented music, Mavusani has become a regular feature at national music galas, using his performances to showcase his artistry while amplifying messages centred on national development.
Backed by the Chimurenga Vocalists, Mavusani brought the stage to life with a high-energy set that had the crowd singing and dancing along. For the musician, however, the performance was about more than entertainment, describing the gala as an opportunity to put his brand and message on a national platform.
“The atmosphere was electric and full of energy. We dedicated one of our songs, ‘Vasiyeyi Vapedzise Basa’, to His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa as a birthday present.
“I am happy to be part of the first gala since the declaration of the public holiday. I want to express gratitude to His Excellency President Mnangagwa for including music artistes from Matabeleland through the 2030 mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
“We applaud the developmental projects being implemented by the Second Republic under the leadership of His Excellency President Mnangagwa. As youths and music artistes, we are blessed to have a leader like His Excellency President Mnangagwa,” said Mavusani.
