Musician Asaph Afrika, born Tafadzwa Tarukwana, is set to deliver a more intimate and message-driven performance at the third edition of the Love Faith Festival on September 27, following his energetic appearance at Teen Fest in Harare last month.
While his Teen Fest performance allowed him to showcase his high-energy side, Asaph said his upcoming set would take a slightly different direction, with greater emphasis on songs carrying meaningful messages.
“People can expect an intimate message-focused performance. I’ll be slowing it down a bit, but still maintaining the same intensity and focus,” said Asaph.
The rapper said he appreciated being part of a festival whose faith-based theme aligns with the deeper messages found in his music.
“It means a lot that the organisers of that event see my music fit for their crowd. This event is more faith-based and not just about turning up,” he said.
Asaph said he would perform some of the more message-driven songs from his catalogue, including Mtukudzi Flow, Vibe Is Correct, Aspheli Moya and Believe Me.
“It will be different because I’ll be performing the more message-based songs from my catalogue,” he said.
The festival will also feature performances from Sir Afro, Tariro neGitare and Cleo Arie, adding to the event’s blend of music, faith and culture.
