Multi-award-winning Zimbabwean Hip-Hop sensation Asaph Afrika has announced his re-birth by releasing a soul-stirring song titled Forever Yours which delves into his personal experiences with love and fatherhood.

Produced by Genius Prince Dube (GQ), the single is part of Asaph’s ambitious project which is to release a new song every month of the year.
This endeavour will culminate in an album celebrating his 10th anniversary in the music industry.

Forever Yours is inspired by his recent marriage and the birth of his child. It is a poignant reflection on commitment, responsibility, and the importance of family.
Asaph revealed that the song’s title was directly influenced by his new found roles as a husband and father.

“When I wrote the verses, I was sharing my story – my journey with my wife and our baby. The second verse is my promise to them, outlining the kind of husband and father I aspire to be,” explained Asaph.
The rapper on one of the verses admits to not being perfect but asks his wife to take him as he is.

“I know you know I am far from perfect. Sometimes I don’t deserve it. This type of trust I ‘m asking for I am going to have to earn it. In you I see the man I could be. Can’t let you go because in you I found a good thing,” Asaph sings.

He emphasised that Forever Yours is more than just a love song as it is a call to action for young people to embrace commitment and responsibility.

“Our generation often shies away from these values, fearing they will miss out on life’s experiences. But true fulfilment comes from what truly matters, like family,” said Asaph.

The rapper said marriage and fatherhood has changed him and moulded him to being a person he always wished to be.

“As a family man I now know that I have to carry myself in a certain way that is exemplary. I have to model myself into the type of man that my daughter can look up to and be proud of.

“Even my music after her birth has changed. It’s now mature, she’s going to grow up and listen to my music. If I am to pass away, she would hear my voice in my music so I have to make sure that what I am putting out there is adding to the world and not bringing destruction,” said Asaph.
