ASPIRING legislator, Febion Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, appeared in court yesterday for allegedly assaulting a female member of a rival party.
Kafahakutizwi is eyeing the Mabvuku-Tafara seat.
He appeared before magistrate Constance Marutya and was remanded out of custody to August 24.
Issues of bail didn’t arrive as he came to court on summons.
The complainant is Moudy Mushavatu, of Old Tafara.
Allegations are that on July 21, Mushavatu was on her way to refill a gas tank when she was approached by Kufahakutizwi.
He demanded that she remove her ZANU PF regalia.
The aspiring legislator then went on to forcefully remove Mushavatu’s Zambia wrap, and allegedly poked her several times on the forehead, threatening to further assault her.
Mushavatu filed a police report soon after the incident.
Belinda Chimuka-Mkandla appeared for the State.
