A woman who was left with her frienda��s children beat them up for failing to do house chores.
Lindiwe Moyo (19) was left with her frienda��s two children aged nine and 10 who she beat up with cooking sticks and pots.
She reportedly stripped them naked too because they failed to wash plates.
After the beating she locked them in the house, but the young one managed to escape and ran to report the matter to her grandmother.
The matter was reported to police and when Moyo heard that she was wanted by police she escaped only to be arrested six months later.
Moyo was hauled before Western Commonage magistrate Lungile Ncube and she pleaded guilty to the charges.
The court heard that on 17 October 2016, Moyo being a friend to the complainanta��s mother was left with the two juveniles.
She ordered the children to wash plates and when they were done she was not satisfied and started beating them up with a cooking stick.
It broke before she was satisfied and therefore she borrowed another one from the landlord which also broke forcing her to turn to pots.
The two children sustained injuries and the elder one was left unable to walk.
The other one managed to escape and she alerted her grandmother about what had transpired.
Their grandmother then accompanied them to the police to report the matter and later took them to hospital.
Moyo, realising that she was in trouble, escaped.
She was only arrested months later. The presiding magistrate remanded her in custody to 2 May for sentencing.
