THE release of audio format of author, training and development consultant Jonathan Ralph Kadurira’s motivational book, “Fighting Ignorance: Performing for an Audience”, is set to transform trends in the book industry.

An audiobook is simply defined as a recording, on a compact disc or made available on the internet, of a book being read aloud.

This type of book is not yet common in Zimbabwe.

However, with technological developments and improvement in internet connectivity across the country, the new book format will no doubt command a wider reach.

It is also flexible as people can listen to it as they perform other chores.

Kadurira, who is also a motivational speaker said the migration to audio format followed suggestions from people he interacted with on various platforms.

“Audiobooks are convenient as they are more portable and user-friendly. More and more people in Zimbabwe are migrating to audiobooks, although their availability in local book stores is still limited.

“The audio format is ideal, especially for people who prefer listening to, than reading, inspirational messages. This book format is a tool that can be used even by commuter operators as they can play it for their passengers,” reckons Kadurira.

He equally notes the message on the importance of embracing knowledge will be spread easily.

“Fighting Ignorance: Performing for an Audience” was inspired by the need to help people appreciate the danger of unawareness and possibly provoke thirst and hunger for knowledge. The book, which is being marketed on all social media platforms, speaks to those with a desire to get more out of life.

It is the book for those who crave for something beyond monotonous compliance.

The author contends that there are three groups of people in life.

These comprise those who know their purpose and living it, those who know their purpose but are not living it and the clueless.

Kadurira’s book addresses all the groups giving them tips on how they can effectively live their lives, unleashing their potential and moving from survival to significance.

The author’s other published works include “Mind Blower: The Beginning”, “Destiny Sagacity”, “109 Pursuit of Purpose Aphorisms” as well as “Short Time”.

Kadurira, who is a multi-award-winning young businessman, has also published articles in “Y2”, “Testimonies”, “Focus” and “Fresh E” magazines.

He has also trained and spoken at various platforms focussing mainly on leadership, inspiration, technology, personal development and strategic planning.

The renowned speaker is also the founder and director of Mind Blower Children’s Fund, a social enterprise set to mitigate educational and social hardships among underprivileged Zimbabwean adolescents.

He is director of PIGA Consultancy, chief executive officer of Springtide Cleaning as well as founder and convenor of The Mesh ZW. His latest intervention is set to transform trends in the Zimbabwean book industry.
