Most candidates feel excited after finishing writing their final examinations.
They organise wild parties, where evil activities are done. Here are some of the parties that learners should avoid:
Vuzu parties
These are wild indoor gatherings organised by teenagers with activities that include beer drinking sprees, drugs and unprotected sex — at times with multiple partners.
Teenagers self-fund the parties often without the knowledge of their parents. Some of the competition during the party include sex with multiple partners, drug king and booze master.
One who manage to sleep with several girls on the day is crowned sex master, while the drug king is the one who has managed to take in a lot of drugs.
Some of the negative consequences of the Vuzu parties include unwanted pregnancies since sex is done with multiple partners and might not know the person responsible for the pregnancy leading to backdoor illegal abortions and exposure to HIV and STIs.
Leavers parties outside school premises
Learners organise the party that will be full of alcohol and drugs but the main guests will be the blessers and fellow notorious boys’ learners. A great majority of learners that attend will be girls.
According to these learners it’s a last dance before going back to the paddocks which is their respective homes, full of 24-hour tight security surveillance.
Sexual activities, drinking, drug abuse will be the main activities at leavers parties and everyone will be excited that they are done with exams.
Such parties have risks, such as alcohol poisoning, drug overdose, illegal drug use, drunk driving, unsafe sex, violence, injuries from falling over (or being pushed or hit), gate crashing, being arrested, and social media problems (such as photos of your drunkenness or sexual activities.
Don’t be excited after finishing writing your final examination. It’s not the end of life, instead it’s the beginning of a new journey.
Choose your friends wisely and avoid the company of bad friends who are into such activities. Such habits will haunt you tomorrow. The journey is still long.
Don’t worry with those who are too fast about life, time is the best teacher.
Some will laugh at you, or call you names, but remain anchored on good principles. One day you will harvest your patience and discipline.
