Jiti musician Baba Harare and Amapiano sensation Black Diva have teamed up for a new single titled “Abroad”, a collaboration expected to make waves across Zimbabwe once it is released on a date yet to be announced.

The track will be accompanied by polished visuals shot in Harare.

The collaboration follows Baba Harare’s recent project with Bulawayo-based imbube group Amaqaqa, showing the Jiti star’s openness to cross-genre partnerships.

Black Diva, who rose to prominence with her hit “Thilo Lilo” said working with Baba Harare is a dream fulfilled as she has long hoped to share the studio with the popular musician.

“The collaboration probably came because of the momentum I’ve been building in the industry, especially after the breakthroughs I had last year. Baba Harare is an established figure in Zimbabwean music, so it was an easy decision for me to work with such a big brand,” she said.

“Earlier this month, his management contacted me about a possible collaboration. I had also been hoping to work with him, so I travelled to Harare and we quickly recorded the song and shot the video.”

Black Diva believes the partnership will strengthen both artistes’ standing in the music industry while exposing her to a new audience of Jiti fans.

“I believe collaborations bring fresh energy, ideas and exposure. They allow artistes to tap into each other’s audiences and create something new. Fans should brace for an exciting banger that will keep them on their feet,” she said.
