Baba Harare relishes Macheso date

BABA Harare says he is humbled to be among the artists performing at Alick Macheso’s 12th album launch at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex on Friday.

Titled ‘‘Tinosvitswa Nashe,’’ the Orchestra Mberikwazvo founder will also celebrate his 54th birthday.

Baba Harare is among the star-studded line-up comprising Selmor Mtukudzi, Suluman Chimbetu, Nicholas Zakaria, Leonard Zhakata, Andy Muridzo and Freeman.

Speaking through his manager Gift Petro, Baba Harare’s camp said they were excited as a band to be part of Macheso’s double celebration.

“We really appreciate Macheso’s acknowledgment of our band, we are very happy to celebrate with him and also participate in his album launch.

“We are now a big brand and it’s exciting to be recognised by other big artists like Macheso.

“Macheso chose us among other big brands, which shows that mudhara akutemba nesu and we won’t disappoint him,” he said.

Petro revealed that working with Macheso was a blessing for Baba Harare.

“We have been working with Macheso for such a long time.

“Baba Harare worked with Macheso on his first album and the experience of working with him was nothing but a blessing for our band,” said Petro.

He added: “Baba Harare has learnt a lot from Macheso, professionalism, punctuality and even the way he organises his events.

“Macheso is one of the artists who are professional, he respects his principals and he is very punctual in everything he does.

“Baba Harare has learnt everything from him and he is still learning

“Macheso inspires almost everyone in society, he really appeals to all age groups and we are looking forward to getting more inspirational music and performances from him.

“Personally, I wish Macheso a happy birthday and may the Lord continue to bless him for the sake of his family, fans and also artists,” said Petro.
