Bafa semi-finals on today

BULAWAYO Amateur Football Association Townsend and Butcher Trophy defending champions Rebels FC take on Madamara in one of the two semi-final matches earmarked for today.
In the other match, Safeguard take on Golden Hotspurs this morning at Mzilikazi High Grounds.
Rebels remain favourites to retain the title despite struggling to overcome Chuck XI in the quarter-finals when they won 2-0. Madamara on the other hand drubbed BCC West Park 5-0 to book their place in the semi-final.

Safeguard, who are in top form with their impressive style of play, overcame Bayi Bayi 3-1 while Golden Hotspurs beat United FC 2-1.

Bafa vice-chairman Charles Chunda said they expected exciting matches today as the teams fight to secure their passage into the finals.

“We are expecting tight contests in both semi-finals and we urge people to come in their numbers to watch the games that will decide the finalists. The four teams have exhibited great skill in the matches and all the four clubs have shown determination to lift the cup. We are preparing for a big final, where we hope to invite various stakeholders who have played a crucial role at Bafa,” he said.
