CAPS United coach Ian Bakala says there were divisions within the players when he arrived but he is now seeing love overflowing at the Green Machine.
The Zambian gaffer has so far been embraced by the CAPS United fans.
He has now taken charge of two matches – tricky ties against Harare opponents Dynamos and Herentals.
His men have forced two draws in both matches and have also scored in the two games. Bakala revealed he plans to rope in a few players when the midseason transfer window opens.
CAPS United have 10 points in 12 games and are just three points ahead of bottom-placed Kwekwe United.
“There’s a lot of work that has to be done for the club to be where it belongs. We are working on something new, which is different from the past,” said Bakala.
“I found a lot of things which were not being done correctly when I joined the club.
“It takes time for some of the players to understand what CAPS United means.
“There was a bit of division among the players when I came but now you can tell the love is there and they are adopting my philosophy.”
He added:
“The players are training twice as hard as they were doing before because they want to impress the new coach, which is expected.
“I’m using every chance to get to know each and every player because I haven’t been here for a long time.
“I haven’t signed any player yet but it is something I’m looking forward to doing during the mid-season break, we want to bring in players who will take this club where it belongs.”
Bakala revealed that it breaks his heart to see Makepekepe running the risk of being swept away by relegation waters.Simba Bhora are on 22 points and they will be hoping to register a win to keep pace with MWOS who are leading the pack with 26 points.
The football gods must be smiling at the CAPS United boss who will play his third game on the spin at Rufaro when they welcome Simba Bhora this weekend.Interestingly, it will be Simba Bhora’s third visit to this same venue in the Castle Lager Premiership Week 13 fixture.
Bakala will be happy to know that Simba Bhora lost in their previous two visits against Dynamos and Scottland.Simba Bhora fans hardly celebrate in Harare, something which goes back from their time in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One league where they recorded one win when they secured their PSL slot.
DeMbare fans will be the first to remind the world that this will be Simba Bhora’s fourth visit to Rufaro this season as they also lost to the Glamour Boys in the Castle Challenge Cup earlier this season.
