AFTER impressing on his debut Premiership season, Triangle United’s dreadlocked midfielder Munashe Bamara is now a target for several clubs, including Harare giants Dynamos.

The 24-year-old versatile linkman might have missed out on a place on the 2025 Castle Lager Soccer Stars of the Year calendar, but the diminutive star was arguably one of the stand-out performers of the season.

He never looked back since that dazzling performance in the season opener against Scottland at Rufaro on February 28.

Although Triangle succumbed to a last-gasp goal, Bamara had done enough to announce his arrival on the top-flight stage with a bang.

He went on to feature 30 times in the league, registering five assists and two goals.

Modest figures but remarkable for a player who turned out for a team that survived relegation on the last day of the season.

Bamara also played all the games as the Sugar Boys reached a second Chibuku Super Cup final, in which they lost 0-1 against Dynamos at Gibbo on November 22. He came close in that final when his first-time shot was well saved by DeMbare goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa, during a dominant first half for Triangle.

However, that final could turn out to be Bamara’s last game in Triangle colours as a number of clubs are circling for his signature.

While Dynamos are the front runners, there are several other clubs including TelOne and MWOS, who are monitoring Bamara’s situation.

A source at Dynamos confirmed that the club has already sounded out the player.

Bamara refused to talk about specific teams but said he was aware that a number of teams were interested in his services.

“I want to thank God for being there for me from day one, and also my parents for the support.

“It was a great first season in the Premier Soccer League, I think I did quite well, some of the performances were seen by many people and I am happy,” Bamara told Zimpapers Sports Hub.

He was bred in rural Seke, where he played Area Zone football before moving to Beitbridge in search of greener pastures.

Bamara only shot to national prominence during the 2025 season.

He formed a deadly midfield combination with veteran Thabani Kamusoko.

“This was my best season ever, and I can feel it,” Bamara said.

“I am happy we survived relegation, and I also played in the Chibuku Super Cup final.

“We lost but we got something. It inspired me a lot.

“Now I am wanted by various teams and I am happy. It motivates me to keep working hard.”
