Bangladesh to tour Zimbabwe after ICC T20 qualifiers

THE Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed its incoming tour of Zimbabwe soon after the ICC men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B that gets underway in Bulawayo from Monday.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will play three ODIs and three T20Is after arriving in the country on July 22.

They will play a practice game on July 25 prior to the ODI series.

The opening ODI will be played on July 28, with the second and third scheduled for July 30 and August 1.

The three T20Is will be played on August 4, 6 and 8, and all matches will be at Harare Sports Club.

Bangladesh are currently playing a white-ball series in the West Indies and are expected to return home on July 16.

The Chevrons will first seek to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B where there are two slots to qualify for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup to be played in Australia later this year.

Zimbabwe last qualified for the T20 World Cup when it was hosted by India in 2016.

Jersey, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Uganda, USA and Zimbabwe will battle for the two available places in the T20 World Cup.

President Mnangagwa will officially open the tournament at Queens Sports Club on Sunday in Bulawayo.
