BAOBAB Stadium in Mhondoro will stage the 2016 Chibuku Super Cup final featuring hosts Ngezi Platinum Stars and FC Platinum on November 5, the Premier Soccer League has announced.

The winners will book a ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the 2017 edition of the Caf Confederations Cup.

FC Platinum booked their place in the final following a convincing 3-0 drubbing of Harare City at Mandava Stadium, while Ngezi Platinum shocked a confident Highlanders 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Now in its third year, the Chibuku Super Cup final has been hosted in three different provinces since its inception.

It was first staged in the Midlands province where FC Platinum defeated Harare City and last season it was played at the National Sports Stadium where Harare City beat Dynamos 2-1.

According to the competition rules, the match will go into extra time if the two teams are deadlocked after 90 minutes, and if there is no winner, the game will be decided through the dreaded penalty shootouts.

Winners of this year’s cup will walk away with $75 000 and the losing finalist will pocket $50 000.
