Basketball season starts next week

staged on February 9 and 10, with 16 men and women teams expected to take part.
Basketball Union of Zimbabwe director of competition, Simon Lawson, said they were hoping that all the eight active provinces will take part in this year’s edition.

“Each province will bring in a provincial select team. We have eight associations that we know have structures while for Matabeleland South and Mashonaland West are still work in progress.
“We are hoping all the eight provinces will come,” said Lawson.
Last year, the tournament was held in Mutare with junior teams competing.
