‘Bastian too old for Man United’

LONDON. — Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has suggested Bastian Schweinsteiger would struggle if he joined Manchester United.

The midfielder is believed to be keen on linking up with former boss Louis van Gaal after fading at Bayern. However, Beckenbauer thinks the rigours of the English Premier League would be too much for the 30-year-old.

He told German newspaper Bild: “Adapting to a different European league is difficult at his age. He has played with great force and put a lot of pressure on his body for many years. That saps energy. He could end his career in the USA instead. – The Daily Express.
