‘Batai Munhu’ gig on cards

Dembo Brothers sharing the stage.
“Batai Munhu,” the phrase is taken from “Sean Timba” chorus. Though the song has raised eyebrows in some quarters, it remains popular among revellers and is fast becoming an anthem.

Due to its popularity, dendera music fans have now christened Sulu as “Sean Timba” and each time the dendera heir goes on stage, fans demand the song. Even show promoters have been inspired by the song to come up with concepts for their gigs.

Jah Prayzah, who is featured on the song, is likely to join Sulu on stage to sing his part.
Another major drawcard of the concert is Zakaria whose new album, “Kurapwa Nemazwi,” is fast gaining ground in music circles. The fiery guitarist will be in his fortress and it will be difficult for other musicians to dethrone him.

With a long list of hits which comprise “Mabvi Nemagokora,” “Mabasa,” and “Munongedzo” among others, Zakaria will surely keep fans on the dance floor. The left-handed guitarist has also some reggae tunes that will go down well with ghetto youths.

Jah Prayzah has grown to be a force in music with the release of his chart toppers “Ngwarira Kuparara” and “Gochi Gochi”.

The musician won everything that came his way last year and was voted the best musician by Radio Zimbabwe listeners. His party song, “Gochi Gochi,” is still a favourite of many.

Other hits include “Chirangano”, “Maria” and “Sungano, for those in love. The Dembo brothers – Morgan and Tendai – are still to make an impact on the music scene.
