Star FM listeners win gym membership

Mwinjilo (39) were each presented with six months gym membership at Star FM offices after their life stories convinced judges of the Innovate competition.

“I am over the moon about winning the gym membership. I put my all in the story that I submitted for the competition and I am happy the judges were impressed.

“I listen to Star FM a lot and I am glad it has paid off,” Honde of Marimba said..
The second winner, Mwinjilo, who is also a pastor with Christ Embassy, took time to thank the organisers for answering her prayers.

“I got my inspiration from our church leader Pastor Chris, who is always encouraging people to lead healthy lifestyles both spiritually and physically. I have always wanted to lose weight and over the years I have been trying all sorts of methods.

“I am happy that I now have professionals from the Innovate High Performance Centre to help me through the journey. I will continue to watch my health even after the gym membership expires,” she said.

Grant Mitchell, the director of High Performance Centre, was enthusiastic about the project. He emphasised that their focus was on physical and mental health.

“As a fitness centre we are looking into redefining fitness. We partnered with Star FM because like our company, they have a vision to make a difference in the lifestyles of people.

“These days people are not so active anymore and this has a negative toll on their well-being. We are coming in to change that with a new concept in fitness,” he said.

The two winners will start off their fitness training being monitored on a weekly basis.
The Chocolate Princess Company have since partnered with the organisers in documenting their journey before/after at a party to show their new looks in six months.

Star FM general manager Admire Taderera thanked the listeners for their continued support.
“We are proud to give back to our audience as appreciation for their dedication. Like we promised, we have a lot of exciting stuff in store for them.

“For one, we are planning to broaden our footprints by installing more transitters around the country.
“Places like Mutare, Victoria Falls and the Midlands province are up for a big treat this year,” he said.
