THE battle for honours is set to intensify in the quarter-finals of the NetOne Charity Shield Knockout Tournament as New Orleans face Black Rhinos Queens while Inline Academy take on Auckland.Matches are set for this weekend with the teams fighting it out for the $75,000 at stake.
New Orleans welcomes the army side Black Rhinos at Barbourfields Stadium with great confidence after thrashing Borrow Jets 3-0 last weekend.
Coach Tobias Mudyambanje said the morale is high in their camp and they are set to cruise past Black Rhinos.
“The team is full of youngsters and we are poised to win, it is good that these youngsters have to challenge the seasoned players, it will be an interesting match,” said Mudyambanje.
Mudyambanje said only Memory Bhebhe is a doubtful starter for the match while other players have minor knocks from their last encounter.
Meanwhile, Inline Academy, the regional powerhouse will travel to Mazowe to face Auckland. They received a bye in the first round and are tipped to proceed to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Inline Academy director Trust Kwebeya said his team had three days of training because they did not have a calendar to guide them.
He, however, expressed hope that the girls would come to the party and march to the quarter-finals.
