BULAWAYO Pool Association is set to hold a 2020 season-opening Beast Tournament from 7 to 8 March that will feature 48 teams from the Bulawayo Provincial League.

Farai Nyandoro, marketing and publicity officer for the Bulawayo Provincial Pool Association said teams from two respective district leagues (Mzilikazi and CBD District) would battle it out in the tournament slated for this weekend.

“The teams will be drawn into eight groups of four each and with the winners of each group set to proceed to the finals to be staged at Raylton Sports Club on Sunday.

“Provincial league systems teams will also engage on the fight for the beast and they will be drawn into four groups of four teams with group winners set to join others at Raylton,” said Nyandoro.

Nyandoro said as Bulawayo Pool Association they had managed to ensure that lower divisions get to test each other among themselves unlike in the past editions where they used to play against the premier divisions and this would see more of these young stars itching to get the feel of this year’s season opener.

The winners of the tournament will walk away with a cow while runners-up would be awarded two goats.

Second runners-up will get a goat and the team that finishes fourth will walk away with four chickens.
