Battle of Zim part 1

traditional rivals Highlanders in a blockbuster tie on Sunday.
DeMbare crashed out of the Confederation Cup tournament last Sunday and indicated they will now focus all their energies to retain their league title.
Highlanders currently lead the table with 32 points and DeMbare are a distant seventh place, nine points adrift of the log leaders, albeit with four games in hand.

DeMbare will not rest during the two-week break imposed by the PSL as they also face Harare rivals CAPS United and FC Platinum in rescheduled fixtures to clear their backlog.

They also have a match pending against Hwange but the fixture could not be determined as the case is alive after DeMbare appealed.
PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele announced this week that clubs that have played 15 matches will take a break for two weeks and then resume on August 4.
DeMbare, who returned from Angola on Monday night, were back at training yesterday and will be hoping for a positive result to reduce the gap between them and the leading teams.

Pasuwa said it was important that they resumed their league campaign as they were feeling the pressure of the backlog.
“We are looking forward to the game but we should also take into consideration that Highlanders have been doing well this season.
“Our aim is to win the league championship again this year. Every game counts and we have to be thoroughly equipped.”

DeMbare might go into the match without goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who could leave for South Africa anytime this week, to finalise his move to new side Pretoria University.

Arubi was meant to be left behind in Johannesburg upon the team’s return from Angola but the side demanded that the Glamour Boys provide assurances that the player is not likely to face sanctions in the current Asiagate investigations.
Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa was yesterday expected to write to Pretoria University explaining the position.

Bosso are currently unbeaten in the race after winning nine and drawing five of their 14 league games to date.
But they are coming from a disappointing 1-1 draw with bottom side Quelaton in their last game at Barbourfields.
Dynamos beat Blue Rangers 6-0 in their last league game to take their tally to seven wins and two draws.

They have lost twice this season to Monomotapa and Harare City.
